Book Week and other News

Magnus Danger Magnus

We had an explosive start to Science Week with Magnus Danger Magnus and his electrifying science extravaganza. We had to scrape the students (and some of the staff) off of the ceiling after such an exciting show. Happy Science Week!

Book Week

Each year since 1945 the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) has brought children and books together across Australia through CBCA Book Week. During this time schools and public libraries spend one glorious week celebrating books and Australian children’s authors and illustrators. Classroom teachers, teacher librarians and public librarians create colourful displays, develop activities and tell stories relating to a theme to highlight the importance of reading.

This year’s theme is Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds. Check out the wonderful display collected and created by our Library Officer Ms Letizia with the help of volunteer parent Aga.

Book Week takes place week 6.

Project Numbat Chat

On Tuesday 10th of August, the Green Team had a visit from Project Numbat. The numbat is an endangered marsupial only now found in two places in Western Australia. Project Numbat wants you to know that there are less than 2000 numbats left because of habitat loss and feral cats and foxes.

Thanks for organising this really interesting talk Mrs Everall. Check out the pictures of our students with Turner the numbat!
