Interschool Cross Country

North Morley welcomed five schools from the Morley Network for this year’s Interschool Cross Country. The weather held up and we had a successful event without any rain! The students all displayed great sportsmanship with some tight competition. North Morley came 3rd place overall with West Morley taking home the shield.
Well done everyone!

Reclaim the Void

Concept Image…using artwork Tui – Claypans, Dolly Muir.  This image has been used, with permission, as the inspiration for the project. The final story-artwork will be devised according to cultural principles.

Reclaim the Void is a cross-cultural initiative to raise awareness and highlight the importance of Aboriginal culture for all Australians. It is a project that will involve people from all over WA creating woven rugs from recycled fabrics that will become a large scale ‘dot’ tapestry. This will be used to symbolically heal one of the holes created by mining here in Western Australia.

North Morley is excited to join this initiative. You can help too be donating recycled clothing and fabric.

What you can donate: recycled coloured doona covers / sheets/ clothing . Cotton fabric is preferred. Please no polyester. This can be left at the front office.

Room 8 Assembly

The year 4/5 students entertained us at assembly with a lovely rendition of Bob Marley’s Three Little Birds. The students promoted the message of positivity and happiness through messages they had written. The students also showcased their ukulele skills that they have been learning in music.

Senior Playground – Official Opening

The senior students are looking forward to welcoming Amber Jade Sander MLA , Member for Morley, to our official Senior Playground Opening. Our school community is welcome to attend. This will take place down on the oval from 2:30pm on Friday 19 August.

Some of our senior students had the opportunity to join students from other schools for the Australian Mathematics Competition held at Morley Senior High School. The AMC is an engaging 30-problem competition that shows students the importance of maths in our everyday lives.
