Outdoor Classroom Day is a global movement to make time outdoors part of every child’s day. On Thursday 4th November, the students and staff thoroughly enjoyed their time in the outdoor classroom. Children are spending less time outdoors than ever before and this is affecting their health, wellbeing and love of the natural world. Time outdoors – on Outdoor Classroom Day and every day – will make children happier and healthier, as well as helping them form habits that will stick with them for life. They will have a love of the natural world and will take action to protect it. We are so fortunate at North Morley PS to have a wonderful outdoor classroom developed by our P&C and Rotary club, as well as numerous garden areas maintained by members of our community.
Last week also marked a celebration of Diwali. Diwali is observed on the 15th day of the Kartik month as per the Hindu Lunar calendar. This year the festival of Deepavali falls on Thursday, November 4, 2021. The festival of lights signifies peace and joy.
A big thank you again to all our volunteers for another successful toastie day. Not only are the toasties delicious, it is also a vital fundraising event for our P&C. We love having carers and family members as active participants of our school community.
Next week, North Morley Primary School presents our whole school musical, Wind in the Willows. The students have been practising very hard ready for the show. I am looking forward to welcoming all our extended family and friends to this special event. Be sure to purchase your tickets from the front office for $1.
On Friday 19th November, we also recognise Grandparents Day. Our Pre-Primary students will be performing at the assembly, with all our grandparents, and grandparent figures, invited to walk through our classrooms to share in our amazing learning. This will be followed by morning tea to celebrate the role that our grandparents play in the lives of our students.
It is an exciting time at our school and we look forward to sharing these events with our families.

Musical
The musical is only weeks away! Our second release of tickets will be made available from Tuesday 9 November. This means families who have already purchased tickets will be invited to buy additional tickets from this day. If you have yet to buy tickets, they are available through the office.
Outdoor Classroom Day
Last week we celebrated Outdoor Classroom Day, and what a beautiful day for it! The students spent extra time outside to learn explore and play. Spending more time outside develops key skills for life, gives us a better understanding of the environment, and increases physical and mental health.
We love this movement that promotes happy healthy children!
Kindy Orientation
We look forward to welcoming our Kindy 2022 families for an orientation on Wednesday 17 November from 9:15 – 10:15am. This will give our new families the opportunity to hear from a variety of speakers introducing them to North Morley and what to expect in the first year of school for their child. This will be followed by a light morning tea.
Please contact the office on 9218 1650 to RSVP.
Grandparents Day
We are celebrating our wonderful grandparents on Friday 19 November. The Pre Primary will be hosting assembly. Grandparents will then be invited for a walk through the students classrooms followed by morning tea in the staff room.
